Welcome to the Rising Trout Fly Shop |
The Au Sable River and Manistee run clear and clean with a large variety of fishing conditions for any angler. Grayling Michigan is home to some of the finest trout fishing in North America. Our rivers are considered "Blue Ribbon" Trout streams.
We are located at the site of Chief Shoppenagons original guide shop. This was also the former location of Ray's canoe livery and the Fly factory. Please take note we are under completely new ownership and management.
We offer you a friendly Fly shop that talks in your Fly Fishing language. Our staff loves fishing and fly fishing and helping others with their fishing needs. We firmly believe Fly Fishing should be fun, relaxing, and revitalizing experience.
You will find reasonable prices for quality items, not cheap items at low prices.
Instruction is available in fly fishing techniques, casting, and fly tying for all levels beginners and the practiced angler.
Family lessons to introduce your children to our sport are available and strongly encouraged. This is a sport for both Everybody! Parent and child lessons make for great family time. Taking a child fishing is a joy that should not be overlooked.
Our fly tying table is always available for you to sit down and tie your favorite flies. Just sit down, grasp a soda or a cup of coffee. We can help you with any problems or questions you have while you are at it. If you need any supplies they are right at hand.
Our Guides are experts on the local Au Sable and Manistee rivers for trout, and the Lower Au Sable for Large Brown trout and Steelhead. We can take you on custom guided trips to other rivers including the Betsie, Boardman, and Boyne River for Trout, Salmon and Steelhead. You can borrow our gear including waders, rods, and reels or feel free to bring your own.
Our staff of experts can direct to our “favorite” spots and what is the current “Hot flies”. Many of our flies are hand tied by local masters.
Vacation packages can be set up for fishing guides, instruction, and lodging. We have lodging and accommodations can be made with the Wyandotte Lodge, also with a top-quality Bed and Breakfast experience available at Jeddy Hood’s Flying Fish Lodge. We another ideally located place to stay that is recommended is the Grayling Days Inn. |
